I encourage you to use these questions as preparation ahead of the online language tutoring and coaching sessions or as well as as support for face-to-face classes teaching English speakers German language skills. Modelling can be used as an instructional strategy, where the teacher demonstrates an approach to learning and the learners learn by observing encouraging learners in imitation of particular behavior, that encourages self-development and learning. Not the methodological perfection is decisive, however the attitude towards learning that is being formulated throughout a modelling process. Learners’ own learning autonomy can be fostered through the use of online resources. Online learner autonomy means, that in time, the online learner acquires the ability to be responsible for all the decisions concerning all aspects of his or her learning beyond the language interaction with the language tutor engaging in homework and seeking a variety of learning sources.

A Short Guide for German Teachers of English Speakers focuses on the introduction of questions in language learning. Teaching German using questions aims to introduce appropriate questions in the language lesson and learning environment. The aim of this short guide is to assist teachers to teach German to English speakers and not to lay ground for an interview setting using a standardized questions or to provide a Questions and Answers framework. There are only twenty five questions that an online teacher can match and use to support your rapport building with the learner. The short pocket guide introduces questions as part of the online language lesson and assisting trainers and learners alike in rapport building by developing a continuous dialogue in the target language focused around the learning objectives of the lesson and creativity of the course. The questions can assist teachers in conversation starters, building rapport and developing reflective thinking as well as spoken abilities in the target language. At higher levels advanced and proficiency, questions will assist in developing for and against arguments, formulating and building presentation, preparing and presenting research questions for academic works, written homework as well as verbal or providing reflection questions after the language course. Questions are organized by interests as well as thinking of their relevance. In most cases German, will be the second language, after English, that learners would like to learn, defined as second and third languages.
