La 1 (La Uno, previously known as La Primera and historically known as TVE1, Televisión Española (until the launch of La 2 in 1966) or less commonly as the Primera Cadena (not to be confused with the Colombian TV channel Canal Uno which was also referred to by that name from 1973-1983)) is the primary television channel of Spanish public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española. Launched on 28 October 1956, it was the first television service to ever operate in Spain.

Its programming is aimed to a wide range of audiences and includes news (Telediario, Informe Semanal), documentaries, debate programmes and entertainment shows. Even though TVE1 is state-owned, until 31 December 2009 it did show adverts in order to fund itself.
