Seren Gomer

Seren Gomer was a Welsh-language periodical founded in 1814 by the clergyman and writer Joseph Harris (Gomer). The title means "star of Gomer".

The weekly was intended to cover news from the whole of Wales, and had a religious connotation. It was met with limited success, going out of business the following year after only 85 editions. In 1818 the publication was revived by Harris, and became associated with the Baptist denomination. In 1820 it became a monthly.
