HowAboutWe

How About We is an online dating and relationships company[1] that has four core products: HowAboutWe Dating,[2] HowAboutWe for Couples,[3] HowAboutWe Media[4] and a free app, You&Me.[5] The Brooklyn-based company was launched in 2010, founded by Aaron Schildkrout and Brian Schechter[6] and has raised more than $22 million in funding as of September 2013.[7] The company reported having over 2.3 million users as of January 2014.[8]

In July 2014, HowAboutWe (except for the Couples business) was acquired by IAC.[9]

Products

HowAboutWe has two subscription-based products for singles and couples:

HowAboutWe Dating is an online dating site where singles suggest date ideas by finishing the phrase “How about we…,” with a date they’d like to go on.[10] The HowAboutWe Dating app is available for iPhone,[11] Android[12] and iPad,[13] and is available across the US and in more than 30 other countries.[14]

HowAboutWe for Couples is a date planning service for people in relationships.[15] It’s currently available in five major US cities: New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago and Los Angeles.[16]

In January 2014, the company acquired Nerve.com and launched HowAboutWe Media, an independent network of online publications devoted to the topics of love, sex and culture.[17] HowAboutWe Media’s web properties include Nerve.com, TheDateReport.com, Swimmingly.com, and Famously.com.[18]

In May 2014, the company launched a free, standalone messaging app for couples called You&Me.[19]
