Green Town is a residential and developing area of Lahore, Pakistan. It was planned and constructed by LDA (Lahore Development Authority).Its position on map is 31⁰ 25'47.25" North to 31⁰ 26'50.50" Northand 74⁰ 18'00.67" East to 74⁰ 19'04.80" East according to Google Earth. Green Town is now developing day by day. There are several government and private schools, technical institutes and colleges spreading the light of education in the area. There are more than fifty big and small parks for men, women and children in this area.An Old Age home is also working devotedly for senior citizens. Some parts of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate is located in Green Town. the situation of Roads and sewerage is much better than it was in the past. The main Madar-e-Millat Road seems to be the road of some foreign roads.


There are several government and private schools e.g. in public sector there are City District Govt. High School, Govt. High School for Boys, Green Town Girls High School, Govt.Middle School etc. A large number of private schools are serving in this area e.g. PIPS, The Trust School System, Rizwan Public High School, Kindergarten School System, Islamic Public School, Rainbow Public School, Rainbow Grammar School System etc. Punjab vocational training institute (VTI) green town branch is one of the most popular technical institute that is helping the poor and deserving students educationally and financially.

Green Town has a private university named Minhaj-ul-Qur'an University. Literacy rate in Green Town is low due to the poor financial condition of the people. But the new generation is moving towards education. It also has 4 Govt. high schools 2 for the boys and 2 for the girls, one girls high school also performs as higher secondary school which deal up to inter level for girls in the evening time, there is also a number of good academies in the area which are committed to boost the level and quality of education for the students of this area. The students from green town got top positions in Lahore Board in different years and number of students now serving the nation as Engineers, Doctors, Pharmacist, Professional Teachers, Govt. Officials, some are in country's politics as well. Green Town has had a good education record. Its been populated about some 35–40 years ago and before that it was a military occupation, the people from the crowded area of Lahore were then shifted to this area, that was a compensation from the government of the time for the people were shifted from the crowded area of Lahore some 40 years ago.(vti)vocational training institute of computer and other professional skills is also in this town to provide professional skill to the young bloods.


Although other games are also played in the area but Cricket is most famous sports in the area. Green Town has an adjacent playground Mango Ground which is house of three cricket clubs; Al-Bilal Cricket Club, Township Greens and Township Whites. It also houses a football club (anonymous name). A number of snooker clubs and football clubs are present in area. There is also an old famous ground named Itwar bazar Ground once popular for cricket but then it turned into a bazar and the cricket for the youngesters was abolished but now the bazar has been shifted to some other place and this ground is free now but its been covered by a boundary wall all around it.


Recently many new developmental projects in Green Town have been started. Drain passing through town was reconstructed. City District Government is building new roads all over the town. A 200 feet wide 6-lane road along with service lanes is recently developed by Punjab Government to connect area to other parts of city. This road also connects area to Ring Road which eventually connects it to Motorway M2. World largest water tanki is situated in green town named Choras (Square) Tanki. In 2012 a new computer centre being established name as "clicK! computers", which deals in new computers and accessories. The cost of living is relevantly high in Green Town, as compared to other areas of the same sort. Rates of property is too high for the people comparing the area, many people have come from different villages to work here as there is the largest industrial estate named Kot Lakhpat Industrial Estate lies adjacent to Green Town, therefore to absorb those people the there is now a trend of giving house to rent, and this thing has also created a lot of problems, like the water, electricity, fresh air, peace of mind, calmness, the number of people living in Green Town is far too much than its actual population due to those migrated people, now its been a very crowded area.

Green Town has many street parks which give good views to nearby houses. Green belts are found on the sides of roads which make your journey back to home more eye catching. this town has a latest Ladies Park developed in 2012 by the government of Punjab only for women and children.

Residents belong to lower and lower middle class and personal vehicle prices in country are high, so they use public transport as their major source of travel. A number of public transport companies provide different routes to travel to and from Green Town. Green Town is connected with all major area's of the city via public transport i.e. Gulberg, General Bus Stand, Lahore Railway Station and R.A.Bazar.

As being the town of Lahore City, Green Town has the same weather as of Lahore. Lying between 31⁰ 25'47.25" and 31⁰ 26'50.50" North latitude and 74⁰ 18'00.67" and 74⁰ 19'04.80" East longitude, Green Town is bounded on the north and west by the Township, on the east by Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, and on the south by Bagriyan Village. Green Town covers a total land area of 8 km² approximately.
