Ballon d'Or 2005

The 2005 Ballon d'Or, given to the best football player in Europe as judged by a panel of sports journalists from UEFA member countries, was awarded to Ronaldinho on 29 November 2005.[1]

Ronaldinho was the third Brazilian national to win the award after Ronaldo (1997, 2002) and Rivaldo (1999) for the second time. He was the fifth Barcelona player to win the trophy after Luis Suárez (1960), Johan Cruyff (1973, 1974), Hristo Stoichkov (1994) and Rivaldo (1999).[2]
