Al-Wasl Football Club (Arabic: نادي الوصل لكرة القدم) is a United Arab Emirates Football League club based in Dubai. It is a part of the multi-sports club Al Wasl Sports Club. Al Wasl is one of the most successful clubs in the UAE in all sports, therefore it has one of the largest fan bases in the Arabian Peninsula. For that Al Wasl has formed the first Ultras group in the UAE, Ultras Junoon. Former Argentine national team player and manager Diego Maradona was the manager of the club, with an annual salary of 3.5 million euros plus a private jet at his disposal until he was sacked in July 2012.[2]
