Aareal Bank AG is an international real estate bank with headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Aareal Bank AG operates branches in 17 European countries and in the U.S. and Singapore. Since 2002, Aareal Bank AG has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Shares in Germany are currently in the MDAX index. Prior to 2002, the company worked under the name DePfa Deutsche Bau-und Boden Bank AG as a subsidiary of DePfa Gruppe.


The subsidiaries of Aareal Bank include Aareon AG, a European consulting firm for the real estate industry.

The bank had an investment banking subsidiary called Via Capital run by Marc Bajer and Arun Mirchandani.[2] The subsidiary operated between 2003 and 2005 but never did any deals and was shut down after heavy losses.
